The Project at 317 Baronne Street in the CBD is converting the old New Orleans Public Service, Inc. (NOPSI) Headquarters into a luxury hotel property. With Woodward Design+Build as the lead, Gallo Mechanical is performing all plumbing and HVAC work on the project to convert the building into a 217 room hotel, including 74 suites, a restaurant, meeting space and a rooftop pool and bar scheduled to open in the Spring of 2017. Along with the 9 floors of guest rooms and public spaces, the work also includes nearly a dozen pieces of large rooftop equipment and a mezzanine level mechanical room above what was once a substation that will serve as a large ballroom for the hotel. Our work features over 270 chilled water fan coil units, 2 air cooled chillers and pumps as well as multiple rooftop units, kitchen fans, etc. Nearly every piece of the sanitary waste and vent system was pre-fabricated and shipped to the jobsite labeled by room allowing for a smooth installation up the building.
